I’ve got little ones who specialize in turning any flat surface into a playground, so when I saw these, I knew I was about to make a decision I might regret… or celebrate. Spoiler: a bit of both.

Opening the box revealed some surprisingly high-quality skate shoes for my daughter. They fit perfectly, with just enough wiggle room in the toe box, so I’d say they’re true to size. They are a bit stiff, but that makes sense since there are literal wheels attached to the bottom. I wouldn’t recommend these as everyday shoes unless your goal is to keep life unpredictable—but for park days, they’re perfect.

Functionally, these things are a hit. My daughter was rolling around like she just signed a pro contract five minutes after putting them on. You can choose between just the heel wheel or go full “mini roller rink” and add the front wheel too. Installing them is easy—pop them in and off you go. Or keep it simple with just the heel wheel, which retracts nicely.

The light switch, however, is basically playing hide-and-seek. It’s tucked under a Velcro flap on the side, along with the USB charging port. Once you find it, you feel like you’ve unlocked a secret level.

As for value—honestly, for the amount of fun these things provide, they’re worth it. Nothing beats the combination of laughter, excitement, and the occasional “whoa whoa WHOA!” moment. Seeing that huge smile on your kid’s face? Priceless.

Would I recommend these? Absolutely. Just be prepared: once your kids get the hang of it, your house may never be a “no-skating zone” again.

Umerigo brought these back in a way that feels current but still has that old school idea behind it. My kid spotted the wheels right away and that was it, instantly wanted to try them.

The setup is pretty straightforward. Velcro strap up top with laces underneath so you can snug them down quick and get out the door. The wheel system clicks in and out without a bunch of messing around. We swapped between walking and rolling a few times and it didn’t turn into a whole project.

Once they get moving it’s all smiles. Rolling down the sidewalk, around the driveway, just cruising. It turns regular steps into something way more fun. You can keep it low key too since they just look like sneakers at a glance.

Lights are bright and cycle through a bunch of colors. At dusk they stand out and my kid was obsessed with that part.

They sit a little taller than regular shoes because of the wheel setup, takes a minute to get used to, then it clicks.

For what they cost, these are a fun pickup and feel like something different than the usual shoes in the rotation.
