Reloj bonito y bien empacado

A beautiful watch from a great company.This is my 3rd Seiko watch and they basically last forever.My first “automatic” (self winding) Seiko lasted 25 years, and would probably still be in use, but the hands came loose and nobody will work on it.My second, a Kenetic, lasted 15 years. I didn’t realize a Kenetic has a battery or capacitor and is actually self charging (the self winding mechanism charges the battery). When it started acting up is when I found out it had a battery that was failing. They want $150 to change the battery which is a bit much, so I started looking for a new Kenetic, but guess what, for some reason Seiko has dropped the Kenetic line. I have the battery ($25) and may try to replace it myself.Which brings us to this watch. It is a good looking watch, better in person than in the pictures. The hands are large and contrast nicely with the blue background making it easy for my ageing eyes to see the time. (That was my only complaint with the Kenetic, the thin silver hands could be hard to see against the brushed finish face.)It is an Automatic, Seiko’s term for self winding, which is always a requirement for me. If you aren’t wearing it, once fully wound it will run for almost 2 days before it stops and you have to reset it.The band is good size, I removed 3 links for it to fit me properly there are 9 total that can be removed.It is water resistant to 100m. I haven’t tested this yet but based on my other watches I have no reason to believe it isn’t. I get up in the morning put it on and take it off when I go to bed. I am involved in a lot of water activities, sailboat racing, powerboating, swimming, and doing dishes (LOL). If it fails this I’ll update the review.My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with instructions. I have this complaint with a lot of products these days, for me a QR code so I can read microscopic print on my phone, or carry a tablet or laptop to make it legible is ridiculous. In this case it is worse as the QR takes you to the documentation that is for several different “Calibers” (Seiko’s equivalent of a model number for the movement). The instructions are grouped by function, not Caliber, so you need to scroll through a lot of irrelevant information to find the function (i.e. set the day and date), then make sure you are looking a the right Caliber. Check the description, not the picture, as the picture may not exactly match your watch, and different Calibers can look similar.Bottom line, I only buy Seiko watches due to their functionality and quality. So far this watch is living up to my expectations and I have no reason to believe it won’t for a long time!Oh, and I forgot to mention the price on Amazon was much better than for the same watch at other online vendors and a couple of brick and mortar stores I checked. Go for it!

Amazing!

I’ve had this watch for over 2 months now. It is my second Seiko watch but my first automatic watch. I haven’t wound it once since I bought it. One thing that is hard to get used to is adjusting the watch manually for every month that isn’t 31 days long. I got so used to the digital watches doing that automatically it seemed like a challenge at first. But you get used to it. It is comfortable, looks good and isn’t that hard to setup.

Qualidade SEIKO. Gostei muito desse relógio! Muito bonito e de excelente qualidade!Meu pulso mede 19,5 cm.

As pictured, I have an 8-inch wrist and it wears just fine. Not overwhelming on smaller wrists but it will not get lost on larger ones.The deep blue dial has applied gold color metal Arabic numbers for the hours and accompanying gold-colored hour and minute hands. The second hand is black with a red tip which does well for precision. The blue and gold colors complement in a STRIKING fashion. It’s GORGEOUS! As the photo shows, the illumination on the hands is quite adequate for this style of watch.The black Calf Skinned strap has a nice semi-gloss to matte finish with almost a lizard textured pattern. It has white stitching accents near the lugs and at the tip of the band. The band is subtle and does not deter from the beautiful dial but helps to enhance the brushed stainless steel case and bezel. The strap size is the popular 20mm which means strap options will be plentiful. You can change the strap and change the attitude of the watch for any occasion.The watch is powered by SEIKO’s famous 4R36 automatic movement which you can see from the display case back. It has a day and date complication along with a Hacking feature (The second hand stops as you are setting the watch. This aids in accuracy and is a MUST for classic Military Field Watches). Es un reloj hermoso, se ve mucho mejor en persona que en fotos. La correa pareciera como si fuera usada pero supongo que es parte de el “estilo” de la propia correa al igual que el pulido del propio reloj que es como si ya estuviera rayado pero está hecho asi a propósito. A mí me encanta ese acabado. Estaré usándolo y actualizaré mi opinión después de unos días de uso.

Excelente relógio “de entrada”, muito versátil para várias ocasiões. Esse relógio é uma beleza. O mostrador é ainda mais lindo pessoalmente, e a pulseira que vem com ele é muito confortável, mais do que pensei que seria! É um excelente relógio para mergulhar no mundo dos automáticos. Único ponto, que não é negativo, é que suas partes que brilham no escuro não duram tanto tempo.Recomendo muito, em especial comprar uma pulseira de couro para intercambiar, fica ainda mais bonito!

Em geral é muito bom. Um relógio excelente, a pulseira em si é muito resistente, o fecho também, ele atualiza a data sozinho, não precisa de bateria, é bem leve e bonito. Meu pai amou e não tira do braço, a parte de “couro” da pulseira descascou mas já fazem 3 meses de muuuuito uso.

This is superb value for money field watch. That is, it does it’s intended job and at around $100 I don’t have to be careful.This is my “everyday work” watch. It’s “waterproof”… sorry water resistant, but it gets rained on, I ware it showering & swimming… I don’t dive past 6 feet with it on.It is superbly accurate, way past the official spec. I set I once a week, when it’s out by about a minute… often less.It gets knocked about, I’m a courier, so I’m forever banging my hand & wrists against stuff… nothing has fazed it so far.I have had the blue model for a couple of years so I bought this sand coloured one for my wife.It’s small, so it’s good for kids, gals, & fellas wth smaller wrists… or any one who doesn’t want a sticky-out watch.There are some negatives, but they’re not deal breakers for me.It’s an outstanding watch on truly awful band… so I spent $15 on a NATO band, & changed it myself. Woohoo!It seems to need some time to “bed in”, ie the self winding mechanism, & accuracy improve dramatically after a couple of weeks. Oh well, I don’t care.Bottom line, if you sped under $200 on a mechanical watch, and it gets water in it, it disappoints you, gets run over, hit with a hammer…. you know the sort of thin, no biggie. If you just spent $10,000 on your dream Omega, or whatever floats you boat & any of the above happen, you’re in a whole different dimension of hurt & probably inventing, new, profane, & colourful cures.

Superb watch but outside cover is some what damaged but it doesnt a matter

This is a nice inexpensive Seiko 5. Watch seems of good quality, band works and looks ok but seems a little cheap feeling when off. See through back is a nice feature. Mine keeps good time for an automatic and the lumes get me through the night ( Not fabulous but adequate). I wear it all the time, showering, washing up, etc and no problems. Have not gone swimming with it on but can’t imagine a problem.
