I like the look
Fahmy –
Well made and well-looking time piece, that feels a rank above of it’s price. A good combination of size, type of movement and build quality. Two minor downsides were noticed though aftere a month of use, internal surface of lugs is not polished and looks slightly rough, that speaks volumes about the mid-price category of the watch. Seiko decided to save peanuts, but overall impression was tainted. The second is the springbars and pins dimensions. Be ready that the diameter of the bars is 2.5 mm and the pin size is 1.1 mm, and these are not very common and may require as specific straps as long search for the replacement if broke. But these are just little cavils, all and all the watch is worthy of it’s price.

Perder. Fuera de eso todo Excelente 👌

Absolutely incredible watch. I loved the look of it ever since it first came out, but hesitated to buy it because 42mm is normally to larger my wrist. However, it wears much smaller than that due to the position of the lugs, and I think it looks perfect on my 7 inch wrist. The only downside is the bracelet—it’s roughly equivalent to what you’d find on seikos or orients for half the price, and does not match the quality of the watch itself. It’s fine, but I’d replace it (I’m using a strapcode bracelet from Amazon in the picture)Genuinely, I think the look of the watch is equivalent to the red on red Tudor black bay that came out after this watch released, but at a fraction of the price.Last couple of nitpicks—it’s definitely not chronometer certified or anything like that. Mine is about 10 – 15 seconds fast per day. Additionally it’s got a hardlex crystal, not sapphire. Ultimately neither of those things come close to outweighing just how great the watch looks to me, but if your sole goal is just to get your absolute best bang for your buck from a movement perspective, seiko and orient have better alternatives. In short, if you are at all considering this watch, go ahead and buy it—you won’t regret it.

This is a quality watch. Hadn’t bought a Seiko for years. This is a perfect size, not too big, not too small. Not many red divers around. Very pleased.

A mídia não pôde ser carregada. Gorgeous watch, fantastic quality! I was initially concerned that the 41.7 mm size would be too big for my “normal” sized wrist, but it looks just right. The watch has just the right amount of weight to it as well, heavy enough to feel very high quality, but not too heavy for comfortable daily wear. Fantastic value for the money, and will be a often worn part of my collection.

Good watch for the value. I love the look and the red color way of this watch. It really stands out among other dive watches. The new smaller case and the improved bracelet is so comfortable on the wrist. Quality control is still a weak point for Seiko. While the watch case, bracelet, and movement, was received in good condition. The alignment of the bezel has been known to be an issue on their dive watches. This one I received unfortunately confirmed the misalignment reported by other reviews. This is something to consider if it bothers you but overall, it’s a solid everyday beater watch.

Very nice watch. The bracelet could be better, but it is still solid and nicely polished. Beautiful bezel and a very nice dial.

I don’t typically take the time to write a review on a product, but this is an exception. Thank you Seiko, for updating and reintroducing a timeless classic! In 1983 I received the H558 for graduation, and literally wore it everyday for close to 20 years. I went through 3 rubber wrist bands and several batteries during this time. I never really got on the “Arnie” bandwagon, because I already owned the watch before I saw it in the movies. I remember seeing it and thought, “hey, he’s got MY watch!” I remember the watch being pretty expensive, up around the $500 mark. Which back then, was quite a bit of money, especially for a high school kid.I don’t wear a watch as a fashion statement. To me a watch is an indispensable tool that I relied on and wore every day and night, no matter what I was doing. Rock climbing, diving, snorkeling, cave exploring, boating, biking, surveying, etc. For it’s 3rd or 4th battery change (I can’t remember), I sent it to Seiko to have them go through it, replace the seals and install a new battery sometime in the late 90’s. I’m glad I did, because apparently they stopped making that model in 2000. Once that battery died, I retired the watch because I was tired of dealing with the battery change every 3-4 years. I opted for their dive watch with the automatic jeweled movement. I was very happy with that model for many years, but it began losing quite a bit of time, like 2-3 minutes a day. I missed the accuracy of my old watch, but didn’t want to have to deal with the batteries.I discovered that Seiko brought out a new watch last year, with the same look, feel and operation as my old one… I bought it immediately! Knowing my history with the old watch, here is my take on the new one: I absolutely could not be more pleased with it. Size wise, the new watch is a small amount larger diameter than the old one. The screw down push buttons and crown are a little more obtrusive than the old one, which makes it look even bigger. However, they are very user friendly and function well. I like the screw locks on the buttons, because it protects them from being accidently pushed and changing the mode the watch is in. The LCD screen works just as well as the old one, but the new watch has a much brighter LED light in it. The functions are the same as the original, with multiple time settings, day/date, stopwatch and alarm. The new silicon band is much more comfortable and forgiving over the old band material. My wrists are kind of small, but the new watch, being even larger than the old one, wears well and is very comfortable. I think the thing that I am most excited about is the fact that it is solar powered. In the pictures (old watch on the left), you can kind of see the face of the new one being a little off black, or brownish, so that is apparently the solar panel. I find that it charges quickly, even under office lights, and has a readout that tells you the battery level. So if it is running low, go outside and do something! It has the accuracy of a fine quartz movement, without ever having to change the battery, ever again. In closing, there are many brand names with flashier watches, and more expensive automatic jeweled, solar or kinetic movements, but I consider this to be a durable “working” tool with a long heritage. Seiko is the only brand watch that I will buy, and only time will tell if this one can withstand the daily abuse I plan to put it through. But if it is anywhere near the quality of the old one, I have confidence it will last me a lifetime. Thank you Seiko!

I have a small Citizen collection for everyday wear and a casio DW for work. I’ve always wanted to add a Seiko but witch one?I went with the stunning Seiko prospex famously known from Predator. An absolute gem. Fits every style.Solid build, confy, solar powered, rotating/push crowns, digital display with lighting and easy to set up. The watch goes into sleeping mode in a dark environment to save on energy. The watch itself is not as bulky as it seems. Bracelet is smooth but slightly long. Fits my small wrist perfectly. Love that watch!

I ordered this as an “Amazon Prime Try Before You Buy” deal. Honestly, when I ordered it I had no intention of keeping it. My daily wear watch was a Seiko SKX013, which I had chosen because I was concerned that a larger dive watch would look silly on my 6 and 5/8” wrist. But after 8 months with the SKX013, I started to think that it might be nice to have a watch with a larger dial that didn’t look so short and squat. Plus the only straps that I liked wearing it on were some unusual curved rubber ones. So I ordered the SRP777, which is a much larger Seiko diver, just to see how it would fit. When I opened it up, I was immediately impressed by how legible the dial was in comparison to my own watch. The thick lume on the markers gave it a nice layered look that my old watch was lacking. Otherwise, the dial looked comfortably familiar, even down to the beloved “blue Saturday” of the SKX. But it did look big. How would it wear? Well, when I tried it on, I was shocked by how well it looked and felt on my wrist. Much better than my old smaller watch, in fact. I attribute this to the rounded cushion shape and very short lugs. It sits nice and flat on my wrist with no overhang, despite the much larger width and slightly longer lug to lug length. It is definitely large and heavy, but not unnecessarily so. It has a simple and utilitarian look to it, with absolutely nothing flashy or eye catching. Yet it has a subtly elegant shape and curve to it that I really admire. And a nice level of finishing that makes me feel like I am wearing a quality watch. As far as the strap goes, it is significantly softer and more flexible than the old plastic feeling rubber straps that came with the SKX. The stainless buckle and keeper are a bit bolder than I prefer, and I am not a fan of the bulky wave strap look, but for now it’s comfortable and wears just fine. Eventually I will swap it out for a real Tropic strap, which will be a great match for this reissued classic. After a week of daily wear, it was about 35 seconds off, so accurate enough for my needs. So yes, I am very pleased with this watch, and have a new daily wearer. If you are a smaller wristed person that can’t find a dive watch that fits right, you might want to give this one a try. Of course Seiko also makes the “mini turtle”, but I don’t think it’s really that much smaller than this one, and lacks the vintage look and guarded 4 o’clock crown. The “slim turtle” looks great, but costs about 3x as much. This is a great deal.UPDATE 13 months later: I have worn this watch everyday since buying it. This includes an entire season of beach lifeguarding, which is not easy on watches. It has been in and out of the salt water many times a day, covered in sand while working out on the beach, slapped on my wrist over greasy chemical sunscreen, worn while picking up heavy sandy things and people and moving them around, and it has held up marvelously. The stainless steel case and the hardlex crystal have both proven remarkably scratch resistant. Running at about -10 seconds/day, acceptable. No regrets!

Love the watch, everything was genuine! Would buy again from this seller.

A mídia não pôde ser carregada. This is my favorite watch right now. I work in emergency medicine and am hard on my stuff. I firstly love that this is an ode to the Vietnam era Seiko “Turtle” reference 6309, but available new without buying on the used market. It is the first watch I have owned that gets comments. It is a tool watch. The water resistance is superb. The reserve battery life is less than advertised, but adequate for a daily wearer. The watch runs approximately 15 seconds fast per every 24hours, which is better than running slow. The hands make very good movements stopping on the indices at precise marks/intervals.I wish a dive compass fit on the band without changing out for a NATO strap, but on that note, the band it comes with is very comfortable. I have bashed it and thoroughly washed it and there are no marks on it. I wear it to work, the gym, everywhere right now. I love the sweeping second hand motion, and the sound when you put it up to your ear. It makes taking timed assessments easy in critical situations.I will end up wearing another watch with Arabic induces in the future for quick time recording, but I will not part with this watch. It is my first Seiko, and it’s kind of a gateway drug for a new watch collector. A great buy at the price. Highly recommend.

I got the Blue version, SRPL51K1. I do really like this watch and it will serve it’s purpose for me as a daily wear so I don’t push the maintenance/service time on my much nicer watches, but there’re things i like, and dislike about it.PROS: Coming in at a 41.7mm, It wears big on my 7.5″ wrist and wears more like a 43mm to 44mm which I really like. The sharp downward angle on the lugs, and the nice blue color is awesome. The bracelet links are noticeably nicer than on my Seiko SSK023. It’s an Automatic movement, which I also really like at this price point and it’s kept time nicely so far.CONS (in my humble opinion): If you’re like me, and adjust the bracelet to your wrist size yourself, you’ll find out that this bracelet utilizes a pin & collar system which I’m not a fan of. Makes it more difficult to change out the links and it’s the only watch I have in my extensive collection that utilizes that system. The clasp on the bracelet is typical Seiko quality which is maybe a 2 out of 5 which is disappointing as it sounds and feels cheap. At a $500-$600 price point, I expect better. The Seiko Proprietary Hardlex Crystal is nice, but I’d like to see a Sapphire Crystal in this one. Hardlex is more prone to stretches, but still not a bad option at all.Overall, This watch is worth the purchase!!

Really disappointed with this watch. Have had three other Seiko watches and liked all. This one does not hold a “charge” over 8-10 hours and gains about 3-4 minutes a day. Neither should happen on a watch of this price and reputation. I’m wearing it less and less and just leave it in the winder.

Loving this beauty. It replaced a Tag divers watch and fits and looks wonderful. As others have said, it comes with many links. I have skinny wrists and removed 5 to make it work for me. I bought an inexpensive watch link removal kit for $10 which was a lifesaver.JOREST Watch Link Removal Kit

Wears great! Perfect size in my opinion. Fit and finish is very very good.
