A great daily driver watch with a sapphire crystal and great looks can’t go wrong. It’s my go to for work and casual wear. Bracelet isn’t perfect but it’s solid for the money.

For the price, nice every day wear automatic especially w/ day & date function. Didn’t bother to check for sapphire crystal, Miyota movement, etc. Doubt I’ll purchase stingray band from Vietnam made to order to match watch face & hour markers like rest of mid-range divers. Gotta give credit where credit’s due as first saw stingray band on 1st Ocean Crawler. Thought, looks cool & been doing it w/ every mid-range diver since. Wish could just buy watch w/o blowing 200 bucks for stainless steel bands that end up in tackle box of extra parts. IMO, now w/ arthritic hands, it’s a “pain” to change stainless steel band size as wrist gets thicker during day, like diver style & easier to change length of stingray style bands quickly, can’t be bothered saving original boxes & papers, feel watches meant to be worn, wear one of my collection of (48) divers from all over world (bunch of Swiss & independents) & change weekly, keep those not being worn in (2) glass enclosed 24 (qty) display cases obviously w/o motors to protect gears from perpetual motion (duh) than own (2) upper-end Rolexes, etc., not preaching to choir, like most, always cautious online, only buy from reputable online retailers or directly from mfr., lately overseas purchases now “nightmare” getting through Trump’s custom’s policies, this is first Citizen from Amazon don’t have to worry about beating up too much as least expensive of all but still looks nice. Surprised more automatic enthusiasts who don’t dive not doing stingray band thing as in most cases, makes overall package more appealing (i.e. compliments galore thanks to Ocean Crawler but save $ by ordering via EBay seller from Vietnam who do great job especially w/ matching stitching & worth 30 day wait for only 40 bucks to get stingray style band as it’s custom stitching that does trick). That’s my automatic diver philosophy as pretty content w/ what’s caught my eye over the years, didn’t know had passion for automatic watch collecting, not going to buy another 24-watch display case as know I’d blow another roughly $24K on more automatics. Know some dudes w/ over 200 automatics but need to live within my means.

This watch is a great daily time piece.The Eco-Drive Solar Quartz movement is durable, accurate and does not require battery changes for an extended period of time with many users stating the watch has operated smoothly for more than 10 years. The case design feels extremely robust and is backed up by ISO Certified 200m water resistance. To further add to this, it also includes a screw down crown for more security. The lume is extremely good and the watch also features a date window. Lastly, I confidently chose this time piece as my daily due to Citizen’s excellent warranty as well as the service center being only 45 mins from my home.When it comes to appearances, I personally enjoy the look of this time piece and have very little to complain about. This piece also comes in a multitude of colours and you will definitely find one that you would enjoy wearing on your wrist!Since this is a quartz watch, due note that there are times when the second’s hands to not line up the the markings inside the dial. Mine did not have this issue but it is something to note! I did however run into this issue with my Citizen BM8180-03E which I also purchased on Amazon and this is where Citizen’s warranty and service center location adds great value to this time piece.I dropped off my timepiece at their service center and filled out a short form for personal information. I received email confirmation of them accepting my time piece and after 4 weeks, I received my watch back with properly lined up seconds hand!Overall the only downsides I can think of is the strap. It definitely feels a bit stiff when you first get it but there are tricks you can find online such as using warm water and a cup to help form it to fit your wrist better!***Note***This Amazon sold model does not come with the strap that has the text for non decompression times and did not come in the traditional scuba bottle box.

Picked up the blue version after stalking it for some time. Unfortunately the initial ordering experience was disappointing – the watch arrived in a bog standard Citizen cardboard box, not the scuba oxygen tank as pictured in the item description. That is not a make or break ( you don’t wear the box… ) but it was disappointing. A nice surprise was the band did not have the decompression table as pictured — something I didn’t like.The bigger issue was that the second hand hit none of the markers on the top half of the watch. I asked for a replacement hoping I’d get one with a better second alignment. Amazon shipped the replacement at Prime speed so I had in 48 hours. Alas, the replacement came in the same generic box, but the second hand aligned to my expectation. I noticed the UPC on the box said the part number followed by “Amazon” so perhaps this box is now standard.As the watch itself, it wears smaller than its 43mm spec width, primarily since the bezel is inset a bit from the edge. Unlike other commenters I like the band — it is tacky enough to allow me to wear it loose and not have it flop around on my wrist.The lume is pretty impressive, but don’t expect all night performance. The bezel pip is illuminated with a slightly greener blue colour than the markers. 60 click bezel is smooth and has very little backplay, The screw down crown is smooth and easy to engage even with the crown guards. The crown pull out stops are close together but easy to navigate – you only will be setting the date ( stop 1 ) on non 31 day months and maybe correcting the time at the same point. Not a lot of things to set.I like the fact the eco-drive will mean that the watch won’t need to be opened for 10 years or so. The dial colour is a bit bland ( especially compared to a blue Orient Ray II I own, not a fair comparison, I know ) but I suspect that has to do with the eco-drive surface – you certainly wouldn’t know this was an eco-drive if the label didn’t tell you so. Perhaps you should check out the black version if you’re on the fence about the blue.In summary after a couple of initial disappointments this is spiffy watch that I like more and more as I wear it.

I bought this to replace a Seiko 5 that broke after 10 years of use (not the watch’s fault it broke). I was a little hesitant to get another automatic watch because I was only wearing it on days I worked, and winding up after my weekend was not my favorite thing. After some research I decided on the Citizen Eco-drive movement.I also wanted something with a day/date feature and 24 hour time on the dial. The world clock feature was a huge bonus as I travel often. I was very happy to find this watch with all the features I wanted and nothing I didn’t need.I was concerned about the size as I had never had a 44mm case and I don’t have big arms, but I measured and cut a diagram on a piece of paper and taped it on my wrist and decided it would be a good size. I will say I wouldn’t want to go any bigger than this, but the utility and readability is well worth a little extra real estate over my previous watch.ProsLooks better in person – elegant without being overly dressyVery easy to set. The analog calendar turned out to be faster to adjust than I imagined.Easy to use the world clock feature. Just check the 24 hour hand and then use the lower dial to turn the outer ring to match that number to your current time zone, and you can see what hour it is anywhere in the world.It looks smaller in person than I imagined, probably because there is so much going on on the face.It is very quiet. I tried a few other watches and the timex in particular was annoyingly loud. This one is almost dead silent for me.Solar powered, no battery replacement or winding needed. Mine came with a decent charge out of the box, but I still put it in the sun for a few hours before setting it. Refer to the manual for specifics.Looks great with NATO straps. I swapped out the leather strap right away because it is hot where I live now and I’m not a huge fan of colored leather.ConsIncluded strap is a bummer. The quality seems fine but I couldn’t figure out how to adjust it by myself and the manual suggested I consult a watch fitter. Pish posh. I popped it off with a tiny screwdriver and threw on a cheap NATO strap in a few minutes and never looked back.On that note, I might have made more effort if the included strap was brown or black. Blue leather just seems icky to me. But if that’s your thing, and you don’t mind taking the time to get it sized up, I guess it seems like a decent quality for the price

This is a large men’s watch with a 44 mm diameter dial, polished stainless steel.I’d say it’s more of a dressy/office watch, but it could do casual.This is not a chronograph, if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t it.The watch has 3 working sub dials, the sub dial at 3 O’clock shows the date, the sub dial at 6 shows the hour in 24 hour format, and the sub dial at 9 shows the day.There are two crowns, one at the normal position to adjust the time and the sub dials, and one at the 4 O’clock position to rotate the inner scale to give you the time in a 2nd time zone.Lots to look at on this watch:If you look closely, you’ll see the crisp white dial has two different textures on it and 3 different levels.The rings on the sub dials have tiny little metal edges around them and the indices on the chapter ring are chamfered.The watch is good down to 100M which means you an go swimming and snorkeling with it, but it’s not a dive watch.The price might seem a bit steep, but in my opinion, you’re getting a lot of watch for the money.Likes:Keeps great time (expected since it has a quartz movement) and with Eco Drive, you shouldn’t have to worry about a battery (capacitor in this case) for close to a decade.The more time you spend with it, the more you see all the detail Citizen put into the watch.The navy blue leather strap goes with the blue hands and the deployment clasp is well done and detailed, looks like it was forged and not just stamped.The watch looks great on the wrist and the blue watch hands change shades as the light hits them.DIslikes:The deployment clasp can dig a bit into your wrist if you adjust the strap to that it’s really snug.The crowns don’t have a stamp on them, they are blank, which is odd for a watch costing this much.Reading the Hour and the Day dials takes a little practice.Really, not much to complain about. It’s a great watch, just different enough to be interesting.
