The moment I opened the box, it became my favorite watch. It looks very high-end, and has enough weight to it that you know you have a quality timepiece strapped to your wrist. The hands are easy to see, and the constant movement of the second hand is pretty cool. But what makes this watch standout is the automatic winding. When wearing it, every little movement you make winds the watch. For a watch of this caliber, I’d expect to pay more. Excellent value for the money! And in case you didn’t know, Bulova watches were born in NYC. An American watch company. Es un reloj que ya había visto y seguido en otras tiendas pero por su alto precio no lo había adquirido, hasta que en Amazon Prime Day lo pusieron prácticamente a la mitad de lo que cuesta en una tienda departamental. El acabado es tipo espejo (cromado) tanto en la caja como la correa, así que seguramente habrá que cuidarlo para evitar los rayones. Se percibe con buena sensibilidad al movimiento (es un reloj automático), lo único que no me gustó es que la rosca para ajustar la hora no se atornilla, es decir, que a diferencia de otros relojes Bulova cuya rosca se atornilla hacia el interior del reloj para “sellar”, éste no lo hace, simplemente hay que jalar la rosca hacia afuera para cambiar la hora, lo cual podría hacerlo más susceptible de que se le meta agua o polvo. Por lo demás, se ve excelente. Estoy muy satisfecho con la compra.

This is a great looking watch. It’s both dressy and sporty, so you can wear it with casual or dress clothes. Like my other Marine Star, it’s solid and fairly heavy. It feels like a quality time piece that could easily be worth several times its price. The gold on the band is slightly inset in a groove, so it’s less likely come into contact with things and wear or scratch. Overall, the gold accents add a nice touch. The only thing I would advise is if you have small wrists, say 6″ to 6-1/2″, the band may be a bit large. The watch shop took out as many links as they could, but it still fits a tad loose for my liking (if my wrists were a bit larger it wouldn’t be a problem). Ideally I should just change the band, but I like the watch the way it came.

I like watches. I try to collect a few mid range watches ranging from $200 to about $900. I like, and own, some Citizen and Tissot watches including the Citizen atomic time Blue Angels World Chronograph watch. Granted this Bulova 98H37 does not synchronize its timekeeping to atomic time, but its accuracy is nonetheless amazing. But the reason I got this watch is the history and technological achievements that Bulova has to its story. Not many watch companies have been around over 100 years. Bulova has. In 1960 Bulova invented a “tuning fork” technology and put it in its Accutron watches fully replace the standard balance wheels used in watches up to that time. The tuning fork mechanism for timing accuracy put Bulova in the record books as having invented the very first technically “electronic watch”. But it was the mechanisms unprecedented accuracy that attracted NASA to start using Bulova’s timing technology in its space program for various mission timers, etc, including a timer in the moon missions during the Apollo programs. Bulova already had a great reputation for government use since its watches were used to supply the US Military with watches in World War II. Of course, the tuning fork accuracy is a bit dated now, but it is amazing that some people are claiming that there Bulova Marine Star watches like mine are almost exactly as accurate as their atomic time updated Citizen Blue Angel watches … even after up to 8 months of running in between setting and checking dates. This history, together with the continued focus on accuracy and engineering excellence, is what sold me on my new Marine Star. The fact that Bulova is now owned by Citizen is the icing on the cake since, as of this review, Citizen makes the most accurate watch on the planet, and Citizen watches themselves are some of the most well designed in the segment of men’s watches. In 2014 Bulova announced it would no longer use its Tuning Fork logo on any of its watches except for it’s Accutron II watches as a touchstone nod to history. So it began phasing out the tuning fork logo from 2014 to 2016. If your Marine Star watch has a tuning fork logo on the dial, it’s because it was “new old stock” that had been manufactured before the end of the tuning fork logo, and yet some of those Marine Star watches manufactured before the logo’s end were still new, and thus sold as new, for years later. I really like my blue dial/gold accented Marine Star. I was worried the gold might be a little over the top, but the actual appearance of the watch is far more tasteful with the somewhat subdued gold accents. It looks extremely elegant and yet can go equally well with casual, sport or dress occasions. I’m very pleased.

Muito bonito e preciso. Lindo relógio, super preciso (mvto Precisonist), mesmo sendo o tamanho um pouco maior do que habitualamente uso, ficou muito bom no meu pulso. Boa pulseira e o azul do mostrador é lindo. O lume não é dos mais fortes, mas para um relógio mais social funciona bem

Beautiful looking watch, the blue dial pops, amazing 16 beats per second sweeping hand, accurate to 10 seconds a year which is the most accurate watch you can buy. The strap is a bit meh so I changed it to a comfortable blue rubber strap that really makes this watch stand out and goes with the 100m water resistance.

These are pretty nice as a dress watch or daily wear, they come in 3 colors, I have the blue which was on specail at the time and looks good. The black version does look smarter but I dont really like black, personal preference. There’s also a brown/rose gold tone version which is more expensive for some reason, it also looks nice. The dial is quite nicely designed, with applied matchstick hour markers and an inner ring to add some interest. I like that this watch looks smart, if not ultra smart or expensive. I also like its proper leather strap (some have said they dont like it, but I reckon it’s good, it’s stiff but after a few wears takes on the curve of your wrist). And for less than USD200 for a smart watch you also get a bonus which is the unique Bulova high-speed quartz movement, which is accurate to a few seconds a year. But the coolest thing about this watch is the way the second hand glides along with no perceptible steps, it’s mesmerising and it gives one pleasure just to look at it. Also the watch is waterproof to 100m so no need to take it off at all, although the strap will probably not last very long if you get it wet in the shower every day. A replacement silicone or rubber strap would probably look quite good though. Or even a jubilee-style bracelet if you want to make it look more formal. For the price you dont get a sapphire crystal glass, perhaps you can upgrade to one if it gets scratched. The dial is about 40mm across but doesnt look big, and whilst my wrist is 7.5″ I am sure it would look fine on smaller wrists too as the lug-to-lug is compact. The date indicator is just about big enough for me to read, although my eyes arent great without my specs. All in all this is a great purchase, well worth 5 stars.

I love this watch.It has a nice weight to it, but isn’t overly heavy. It’s also very classy with a suit or just a night out.The face is very clear and easy to read. The watch and clasp are extremely durable.You WILL need tools that do not come with the watch to adjust the band. Luckily, I already had them. Husband bought this in January 2026 and he is wearing it as his daily favorite. He loves it because it is a smaller case and best of all he finds the thin case as very comfortable and light weight. A construção no geral é sólida, e dá pra notar o cuidado da Bulova nos detalhes.Como pontos de atenção: o vidro é mineral, não safira, então precisa de cuidado para não riscar. A resistência à água é limitada (aguenta respingos, mas não dá pra nadar ou mergulhar). Vi relatos de alguns casos isolados de defeito precoce, mas não parece ser algo comum.No geral, acho uma excelente escolha pra quem busca um relógio clássico, elegante e com ótimo custo-benefício.
