First off, let me start by saying that I’ve always wanted a real Seiko chronograph, since I was a little kid. I never bought one before because of my tendency to be rough on easily breakable accessories like timepieces combined with the fact that it costs a minimum $100-200+ to buy a new watch that isn’t absolute garbage that stops keeping time after the first week.So I’ve been browsing Amazon and window shopping for watches once or twice a week for the last year until finally I came across this one. Something about it really just caught my attention and wouldn’t let go of it. It just had everything I wanted in a watch. The sharp glean of stainless threw light off of it to catch the eye, but wasn’t flashy and gawdy like a diamond set watch or gold plated band looks. It has chronograph which I’ve always wanted in a nice watch, as much for the aesthetic value of it as for the functionality. The subtle red and blue accents are just enough variation to break up the watch face and keep it from looking too generic, but they are also stainless as well so they look right at home while adding to that sharp glint the face throws in the light. It has a silicone band, and that was a huge selling point for men. I like the look of stainless steel bands until a month into owning them after they’ve been scuffed and scratched to oblivion. And then it was on sale on top of all of it, so I just got this feeling that this was the watch for me.Its refreshing to seek out a specific brand of a certain product for such a long time and actually not be disappointed once I finally get one of my own, as I’ve experienced with many other premium brand products. Seiko does not disappoint one single bit in any aspect of this watch, though. They are a brand that upholds an uncommon level of ingenuity in their products compared to most in this day and age, and I would recommend this watch to anyone.

THIS is the watch to BUY!I wouldn’t recommend any other automatic watch at this price point to anyone. Anything someone is knocking is likely because it’s “close to perfect” but close to perfect for $250 is a STEAL.I think the three main concerns were:1. Timekeeping (losing +-30sec daily)2. Glass material3. Bracelet construction1. Timekeeping is not an issue here at all. +10-15sec a day. Shouldn’t be any issue there. That’s basically perfect for a mechanical watch!2. The hardlex Seiko uses looks great! It’s new, but I would bank on it being great! Overall, if it comes down to it, maybe subbing in some sapphire- shouldn’t break the bank!3. Bracelet is good! I don’t see what all the fuss is about them being a certain way. Maybe I’m just not that picky! No snagging arm hair or anything like that!Overall, super satisfied by this purchase. Get this one!!

Runs -10 seconds after 2 days but it would probably run at correct time if worn every day, I have 13 other Seiko’sand many other brands.This one looks better in Black. I put This one into a SRPJ09K1 Case With OD Green NATO Strap.

Solid watch with a great dial. Grayish blue with a little texture, the applied numerals catch the light and are easy to read. Field watch vibe, but dressed up. I put a tan leather band on it and it’s at a whole new level. I have 12 watches and I wear them all, but this one is on my wrist three out of seven days.

After a recent trip to the beach, I realized that I really didn’t have any watches water resistant enough to take with me either to a beach, or even to a neighborhood pool. Something has to change.Enter this watch.Having previously purchased the SNK809, and wearing that for a while, I was looking to upgrade, but I didn’t want something that was going to be too big on my small arm. Good thing that Seiko released a mid-sized watch for normal people.The 100M water resistance is a bonus, and I can attest that it works just fine in pools, at least. It has a “blue saturday” and a “red sunday” in the window, and the overall look of this military-inspired watch is clean and clear. The lume is bright enough to see in the early morning, and the automatic keeps time very well, much better than the SNK809.There’s not much more to say. The included watch band is decent enough, though I’ve replaced it with a series of quick-release bands that I change out depending on how I’m feeling that day, and what I’m doing.Overall, I would recommend it, and I’m happy with my purchase.

I returned it because it was too big for my wrist but it’s a really nice watch

I have had 4 Seiko watches and like them all – still have 3, one was lost after 20+ years of service. This one is just slightly larger than an old fashioned men’s size watch (which I prefer), not as oversized as most now. The 5 min markes are very large, and the hands and min dots are large enough to be easily readable. The “champaign” face (= light gold) is a bit similar to the hands, so the contrast is just enough. The calfskin band is a bit narrower than most, but is supper comfortable, and helps to lighten the weight, making the overall comfort higher. One unexpected feature I like is that the minute marks on on a beveled ring, which adds a nice texture to the look. Amazon spec says made in China, but the watch back states Japan. Also states 10 bar (the higher waterproof spec) and saphire crystal (which I think is pretty durable). I recommend it.

It’s a really nice Watch, I’m using it for everyday.In my opinion it’s just a little bit small, feels like a woman watch, but it feels luxurious and worth it.

As pictured, I have an 8-inch wrist and it wears just fine. Not overwhelming on smaller wrists but it will not get lost on larger ones.The deep blue dial has applied gold color metal Arabic numbers for the hours and accompanying gold-colored hour and minute hands. The second hand is black with a red tip which does well for precision. The blue and gold colors complement in a STRIKING fashion. It’s GORGEOUS! As the photo shows, the illumination on the hands is quite adequate for this style of watch.The black Calf Skinned strap has a nice semi-gloss to matte finish with almost a lizard textured pattern. It has white stitching accents near the lugs and at the tip of the band. The band is subtle and does not deter from the beautiful dial but helps to enhance the brushed stainless steel case and bezel. The strap size is the popular 20mm which means strap options will be plentiful. Es un reloj hermoso, se ve mucho mejor en persona que en fotos. La correa pareciera como si fuera usada pero supongo que es parte de el “estilo” de la propia correa al igual que el pulido del propio reloj que es como si ya estuviera rayado pero está hecho asi a propósito. A mí me encanta ese acabado. Estaré usándolo y actualizaré mi opinión después de unos días de uso.

Orologio che non ha bisogno di presentazioni, legendario movimento automatico Seiko 7S26C, 21 gioielli, 40 ore di riserva di carica, non hackable (senza fermo macchina) e non ricaricabile manualmente. Un movimento con uno storico che supera i quarant’anni.La ri-edizione di questo ‘5’ con dial blu non delude: design senza tempo, che risulta elegante e dal look un poco vintage, spicca su polsi non troppo grandi come un orologio che potrebbe valere molto di più.Da quando lo indosso, nonostante possegga ben più costosi e prestigiosi pezzi, più di una persona ha girato lo sguardo dopo averlo notato al polso.Seiko 5, un grande classico.Lucidatura a specchio, impeccabile, vetro minerale, non zaffiro, ma di ottima qualità.Punto debole, inutile dirlo, è il bracciale che, rispetto a tutto il resto, davvero non regge il paragone con altri Seiko 5 di fascia leggermente superiore (quelli con le alette laterali sul gancio a farfalla per sganciare il bracciale, per intenderci).Acquistato insieme ad un cinturino in vera pelle nera stampato coccodrillo e con chiusura a farfalla (19 millimetri, non sbagliate), fa una figura pazzesca.Fate attenzione all’acqua: essendo un 3 ATM è solo resistente agli schizzi, non immergetevi con lui al polso. Chi lo ha fatto, lamentandosi del risultato, è solo artefice della propria sventura per mano della mancata informazione.Se volete qualcosa di più impermeabile dovrete rivolgervi ad altre edizioni più sportive di inclinazione diver con almeno 5 ATM.Ultimo, ma non per importanza, il giudizio sul movimento 7S26C.Chi ha recensito questo come altri ‘5’ in maniera critica rispetto alle tolleranze non conosce bene gli automatici che, notoriamente, fanno dai 5 ai 15 secondi (più o meno) al giorno di scarto. Sotto i 5 siamo in zona certificazione COSC, acronimo per ‘Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres’.Probabile è che io sia stato particolarmente fortunato, senza dubbio, ma questo SNXS77 avanza di quattro secondi ogni giorno fino a sera, prima di toglierlo per dormire, e si sveglia con 4 secondi in meno la mattina, ovvero dopo sette/otto ore di non ricarica dovuta ad inattività.Non scherzo: l’ho cronometrato con lo smartphone, e in 100 ore di test, ha perso esattamente 1 (UNO) secondo in totale su 100 ore!Inutile dirlo: dapprima la sorpresa, seguita subito dopo dalla soddisfazione di aver incontrato qualcosa di unico.La passione per il movimento deve prescindere dai valori commerciali, questa la mia opinione.Certo, se potete permettervi un Bovet, perché no?Ma non sottovalutate una casa storica come la Seiko: questo ‘5’ è un piccolo, grande orologio, che ha una tradizione storica, una reputazione, un movimento semplice ed efficace e un design vintage senza tempo.Potrebbe essere per voi l’inizio di qualcosa, ad un costo irrisorio.Il perfetto ‘primo’ automatico per chiunque, o una inevitabile nuova presenza che durerà anni nella vostra collezione.Ne ho preso un altro, subito dopo questo, e poi un altro ancora. Tutti diversi per design e specifiche.Caldamente consigliato l’acquisto di un cinturino di pelle, misura 19mm non sbagliate.Compratelo.
