Very good product, how as it was to be a gift I cannot as the box containing the item was crushed. It was simply stuffed into my mailbox. Very poor handling!

I’ve wanted a mineral sunscreen that left a minimal cast and this is it. It actually fades in about 15 minutes after application which works for me. I’ve tried others that left me looking like Casper, I didn’t appreciate that. I researched mineral sunscreens for black people and this one came up a few times. I like it, it also doesn’t burn my eyes. It is also good value for money. No regrets here.

It is much easier to apply than the regular one, but leaves a greasy feeling and look on my skin. No matter how much I try to rub it.
If my hands are too cold, then it is harder to rub it in, and get rid of the ashy/chalky look.
Besides that, it works great, no sunburns so far.

I bought several different Blue Lizard products and am happy overall with a few exceptions. On this particular product, the sunscreen worked great, BUT… on the way home from our beach vacation the crinkled seal at the end of the tube failed and a half full tube emptied all over my toiletries bag. What a mess! I had another tube of Blue Lizard sensitive SPF 50 and a tube of Badger reef safe sunscreen and both were partially full and made it fine without a leaking seam. Hopefully, this issue was just a fluke, but it’s still worth noting in case it happens to others.

This will go on white when first applying; then it will slowly go clear on skin. However, a slight white cast will still be noticeable. If you are a man with facial hair/a beard, then it will not clear as much as applying to skin without hair and will be more noticeable.
Although this sunscreen is slightly runny and could make a mess around the bottle, it is moderately difficult to apply to the skin. I would advise anyone using this sunscreen to apply it with a light finger and to be careful with stretching the skin while applying.
Also, this sunscreen would be more ideal for spending short amounts of time out in the sun; such as driving somewhere for fewer than 20 minutes, walking in and out of a building to your vehicle/other building, or using it early morning / late afternoon. I WOULD NOT recommend this sunscreen to anyone wanting to spend prolonged periods out in the sun. Keep in mind that this sunscreen contains only 6% zinc oxide which is a lower percentage amount and 9% titanium dioxide. Titanium Dioxide will ONLY protect against short wavelength UVA-2 rays; it DOES NOT protect against long wavelength UVA-1 rays. Only zinc oxide will protect against both UVA-1 and UVA-2 as well as UVB rays.

My husband is dark skinned and was tired of using my pastey thick white sunscreen for my fair skin. He gets hot really quickly and thick oily paste didn’t feel comfortable on hot days even if he was in and out of the water. I got this for him and he loved how light it was. It’s white out of the tube and quickly disappears on the skin. We also both tested it after playing in the Southern California shore break waves which can hit hard and wash off your SPF. We reapplied once after the ocean and never experienced a burn. I love this product now too.
