It is odd that even though it has been 4 yours since sunscreen pollution has been brought to the attention of the world, companies still continue to make sunscreens with these chemical filters in them. 3 out of the 5 main active ingredients have been banned in numerous places (Hawaii, Aruba, Palau, US Virgin Islands, eco-tourism in Mexico, Key West Florida, and Bonaire) for what it does to ocean life and coral reefs worldwide.

Maybe you don’t care much for the ocean and the pollution that comes with these chemical filters…then how about what it does to your body? Numerous studies have already shown that the chemical filters in these sunscreens are absorbed into your body through the largest organ, our skin, and it wreaks havoc on our endocrine system. Hormone disruption at any age is no joke. The FDA itself has only deemed that zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as safe and effective. Studies have shown that weeks after use, the chemical filters could still be detected in the skin and blood. Scary stuff if you care about your health in the short or long term.

It seems irresponsible to offer a product like this but at the same time also offer the safer alternative in having all mineral sunscreens as well. This company offers a decent mineral based sunscreen so once again, it’s a money grab. There are safer options but as consumers we need to be informed.

Overall, this Warrior brand spf 30 sunscreen is a nice variety to have on hand. This goes on smoothly and does not have a greasy or sticky feel to it after application. This seems to last a while. This is a decent sunscreen for land use. There are chemicals in this that do not make this sea/water/lake friendly.

There is a slight fragrance to this. The size of the tube makes this carry on travel friendly. Pricing is a bit high for 3 ounces. This did arrive with the safety sea in tact and it was also within the expiration date.

This sunscreen contains oxybenzone, so it is not safe for reefs and should not be worn in the ocean. That’s disappointing, because the primary purpose of waterproof sunscreen for me is so I can wear it to the beach. But it’s still convenient to have for travel to hot humid climates, in which I tend to sweat off any non-waterproof sunscreen within minutes. In any case, sea unworthiness aside, this is a good sunscreen. It doesn’t leave a white cast, it doesn’t feel sticky or uncomfortable, it doesn’t stain my clothes (like Neutrogena does), it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin (typical sunscreen gives me a rash,) and it offers good, lasting protection from the sun. It has a unique smell when applied, somewhat citronella-ish, but the smell dissipates so it’s not strong. This is a great choice for strong but sensitive skin-friendly sunscreen, as long as you keep it away from the water!
